The 3rd Annual Waikīkī Steel Guitar Week culminated in the 10th Annual Waikīkī Steel Guitar Festival on Friday and Saturday evenings. The 2019 lineup featured popular Hawai‘i and Japan Steel Guitar masters. The week's featured steel guitar masters and artists included Alan Akaka and The Islanders, Greg Sardinha and Po‘okela, Paul Kim and the Waimanalo Sunset Band, Kapono Lopes, Scott Furushima, and other popular steel guitarists in individual programs of traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music and dance.
Ke Kula Mele Hawai‘i NextGen steel guitarists Pono Fernandez, Joey Misailidis, Tai Misailidis, Enosa Lyman, Mālie Lyman, Hō‘ailona Mahuka, Ethan Goore, and NextGen musician Ikaika Orlando were also be featured, accompanied by Alan Akaka on guitar.
Waikīkī Steel Guitar Week was free and open to the public. Parking was available at the Royal Hawaiian Center parking garage. Standard parking rates applied with validated parking available with $10 purchase from any center merchant.
