Maui actress/comedienne/storyteller/radio personality Kathy Collins has been performing on stage since the age of 13. She began her broadcasting career at 17; years later, with her late husband Barry Shannon, she co-founded Mana‘o Radio 91.5 FM, a non-commercial, non-profit radio station staffed entirely by volunteers.
"Tita Out", Kathy's first CD release, won the 2005 Hawaii Music Award for Comedy Album of the Year. The live performance CD was recorded at the first of several sold-out one-woman shows at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Recent projects include her Death Comedy Jam - an irreverent look at death and widowhood, written and performed by Kathy after her husband's death in April 2007.
This will be Kathy's first year as emcee for the Waikiki event. She has been the Maui Steel Guitar Festival's emcee since 2014.
